Therapist in Norwood, NJ

A place to reflect, to feel seen, and to finally move forward.

Therapy that’s catered to you.

Meet Dr. Christine Fingeroth, PsyD

Everything feels like it’s unraveling.

No matter how hard you try, you keep ending up in the same patterns—relationships that drain you, battles with food and body image, emotions that feel too big or out of reach. You’re often left wondering if, somehow, you’re the problem.

I work with clients who find themselves…

  • Stuck in toxic, emotionally manipulative relationships—same dynamic, different person.

  • Exhausted by the cycle of binge eating, yo-yo dieting, shame, and self-criticism.

  • Unsure of who they are outside of their trauma.

  • With emotions that are too much or not enough, making it hard to connect with others.

  • Feeling like, despite all their efforts, they keep failing—like something is wrong with them.

The way I work

You don’t need fixing. You need understanding.

As your therapist, I won’t just nod and ask, “How does that make you feel?” I’m here as an active participant in your journey, helping you connect the dots between your past, present, and patterns. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are—no masks, no pretenses. My job isn’t to judge you—it’s to understand you. I want to help you see why your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors make sense, even the ones that feel frustrating or self-defeating. And from there, we can work together to shift what isn’t serving you anymore.

I’ll also be here to challenge you—but never in a harsh, “tough love” way. Think of it more as me gently calling out things like self-sabotage with curiosity and compassion. I will validate what you’re feeling (because it’s real), while also offering new perspectives, ultimately helping you understand not just what you're thinking but why those thoughts formed in the first place. Clients often tell me they appreciate how I weave their past experiences into our conversations, making it easier for them to understand their present struggles and create real change.

My style

I’m a very real, down-to-earth therapist.

If something surprises me, you’ll see it on my face—I won’t pretend to hide that I’m human! Sometimes when it’s right I’ll bring humor into sessions, because healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy. At the same time, I take the work seriously, using approaches like DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic therapy to help you understand your innate alarm systems that get triggered in certain situations.

Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. I tailor my approach to what you need, whether that’s problem-solving, coping ahead, working on boundaries, or learning to accept what’s outside of your control. I know life is unpredictable, so I offer flexibility when possible, and I show up as a real person who genuinely cares about my clients. At the end of the day, my goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered to make the changes that matter most to you.

Therapy with me is…

  • I create—and prioritize—a space where you can be yourself, without judgment, so we can build a real, trusting relationship.

  • I help you understand how your past experiences influence your present, guiding you to make empowered choices that shape your future.

  • I specialize in working with those whose struggles don’t fit the conventional mold, whether it’s food, relationships, body image, or something else.

  • I don’t just scratch the surface—we’ll dig deep to create real transformation, shifting how you see yourself and the world around you.

  • I believe in the power of empathy. You’ll never feel like “just another client” to me; I’m fully invested in your growth and healing.

  • I show up as myself—no putting on a face. You get to do the same, and together, we build a genuine connection where we can communicate freely.
